Interested in singing great choral music for treble voices? Join us! You’ll fit right in and have a great time. We are comprised of adult singers of all ages, from all walks of life, and at all levels of musical experience. We’re here because we enjoy singing and because we value the rewards that come from the challenge of rehearsing and performing great works of art. Auditions for MWC are low-key - we simply want to hear the tone of your voice, establish your comfortable vocal range, and determine your instinct for melody and harmony. Confident music reading skills and/or prior choral experience is a plus, but not a requirement, especially if you have a good ear for music.
If you're interested in joining the choir, please send a message to Jessica via the 'contact' section at the bottom of the home page: https://jessicaisraels.com

What kinds of music do you sing?
Multnomah Women's Chorus performs a wide variety of musical styles. We enjoy music that makes us both think and feel what it means to be truly human. This includes (but is not limited to) classical concert and sacred music, jazz, contemporary, folk, world, musical theater, and opera.
What kind of musical experience do I need to have?
We’re a chorus where you can come develop your skills and enjoy the experience. Usually, new members have some choral singing background, even if it may have been a while, and know at least the basics of sight-reading music. If you have a passion for singing, an ear for music, and a commitment to making the best music that you can, we would love to have you join us.
What are your auditions like?
Auditions for this chorus are low-key. We simply want to hear your voice, see what vocal range is comfortable for you and determine your instincts for melody and harmony. Confident music reading skills or prior choral experience is a plus, but not a requirement, especially if you have a good ear for music. Please come prepared to sing a song; anything you like is fine.
What is the age range of the chorus?
The chorus has a mixture of ages, from college-age and up, and is open
to adults of any age.
Do I have to be a female singer to sing in the chorus?
Absolutely not! MWC welcomes all treble-voiced singers, regardless of gender identity.
When are rehearsals?
Rehearsals are on Monday nights from 7pm to 8:30pm. There are 4 terms per year, lasting between 8 and 12 weeks. We perform 3 concerts a year, on the final Mondays of the Winter, Spring, and Fall terms. Rehearsals take place at The Episcopal Parish of St. John the Baptist, located on the Oregon Episcopal School campus.
Does it cost anything to be in the chorus?
Multnomah Women's Chorus fees cover fair and equitable pay to all our musicians, administration expenses and supplies. As of March 2026, fees to participate in MWC are $17 per 90-minute session (a "session" could be a rehearsal, concert, and/or recording). As an example, for the Spring 2026 term, there are 13 sessions and the cost is $221. Ability to pay will not be a barrier for any MWC singer. We offer scholarships as well as payment plans as needed.
When are performances?
Our concerts are on the final Monday evenings of the of the Winter, Spring, and Fall terms. Spring concerts are held at St. Gabriel’s Episcopal Church in Bethany; Fall and Winter performances are held at The Episcopal Parish of St. John the Baptist.
What are the dates of the upcoming term?
Spring term: March 30 - June 15, 2026, with an additional recording session on June 29.
How long has the chorus been in existence?
MWC began at the Mutlnomah Arts Center during the summer of 2014. In 2022 it transitioned to an independently-run community ensemble.
